01

School Requirements

Any government-registered primary school in Uganda with at least one functional computer lab (minimum 15 working stations) and reliable electricity access can apply. Internet connectivity is preferred but not mandatory for the foundational track.

02

Student Requirements

All P1–P7 learners at a partner school are eligible with no prior computer knowledge required. The curriculum is scaffolded by grade band: P1–P3 cover digital literacy fundamentals; P4–P5 Scratch-based programming; P6–P7 web basics and data concepts.

03

Infrastructure Readiness

Schools do not need a perfect lab to begin. What matters most is a workable starting point: accessible devices, safe power conditions, an available room or lab environment, and school leadership willing to support implementation. CAU can advise on what is sufficient for launch and what can be improved over time.

04

Leadership Commitment

Strong implementation depends on administrative support. Schools are expected to appoint a contact person, provide timetable coordination, help manage learner attendance, and support communication with parents where payment, scheduling, or expansion decisions are needed.

05

Best-Fit School Profile

The program is best suited to schools that want to strengthen their ICT identity, create more practical learner experiences, and give pupils exposure to internationally aligned digital competencies. It works especially well for schools seeking structured ICT improvement rather than ad hoc computer lessons.

06

Who Should Enroll First

Schools can begin with all learners or phase delivery by grade bands depending on readiness. Where device availability is limited, CAU can help schools prioritize rollout across upper primary, lower primary, or pilot cohorts while planning for broader expansion.
