Computer and Online Essentials gives learners the confidence to use computers and digital devices with purpose, accuracy, and safety. It introduces the foundations of hardware and software, file and application management, networks, online information, communication tools, and responsible online behaviour. By the end of the module, learners are able to work with files and folders, connect to networks, use the web more effectively, manage email and calendars, and understand how to protect devices, data, and themselves online.

Learners build capability across computers and devices, managing files and applications, network concepts and access, online information, online communication, and digital safety. This includes practical work in file organization, storage, browser settings, communication tools, sending and receiving email, organizing inboxes, using calendars, and understanding wellbeing, accessibility, and environmental awareness in digital environments.

The Documents module equips learners with the word processing skills needed for everyday school, academic, and workplace tasks. Students learn how to create, edit, format, and finalize professional-looking documents such as letters, reports, and structured classroom work. The module also strengthens their understanding of file formats, saving options, layout discipline, and the use of tables, images, and mail merge to improve the quality and usefulness of written communication.

Learners work through document creation, formatting, and output in a structured way. Skills include using the application efficiently, entering and editing text, formatting text and paragraphs, applying styles, creating and formatting tables, inserting graphical objects, preparing mail merge outputs, and checking documents properly before printing or sharing.

Presentation trains learners to communicate ideas clearly and confidently using slides. They learn how to plan, create, organize, and refine presentations that are visually clear and easy to understand. The module covers layouts, designs, themes, text handling, tables, and visual enhancement through charts, pictures, and drawn objects, while also preparing learners to deliver or print presentation materials professionally.

The skill set includes using presentation software productively, developing slide decks through different views, building and managing slides, working with master slides, formatting text and tables, adding charts and organization charts, inserting and manipulating graphical objects, drawing simple visual elements, and preparing outputs for both delivery and print use.

The Spreadsheet module introduces learners to one of the most practical tools in digital work and problem-solving. Students learn how to organize information, work with rows, columns, and worksheets, edit and sort data, and apply formulas and functions to generate useful insights. They also learn how to present data visually using charts and graphs, helping them move from raw numbers to meaningful communication.

Learners build confidence in using spreadsheets through structured practice with cells, worksheets, formulas, functions, formatting, charts, and output preparation. They learn to insert, edit, sort, copy, move, and delete data, manage rows and columns, apply arithmetic formulas and functions, format numbers and dates correctly, and create and edit charts before checking and printing their final work.
