Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for a course, workshop, or event with Code Academy Uganda, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you are registering on behalf of a minor (a child under 18), you verify that you are the parent or legal guardian and agree to these terms on their behalf.
2. Registration and Enrollment
Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during the registration process (including student age and medical details).
Admission: We reserve the right to decline admission or enrollment at our discretion if a student does not meet the course prerequisites (e.g., age requirements for Python or Robotics).
3. Fees and Payments
Payment Due: All course fees (e.g., for Holiday Makers, Weekend Programs) must be paid in full before or on the first day of the module, unless a payment plan has been explicitly agreed upon in writing.
Refund Policy:
- Cancellations > 7 days before start: 100% refund (minus administrative fees)
- Cancellations < 2 days before start: 50% refund
- After course starts: No refunds will be issued once the course has commenced
Currency: All fees are payable in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) unless agreed upon otherwise.
4. Student Conduct and Safety
Behavior
Students are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors, staff, and fellow students. Bullying or harassment will not be tolerated.
Equipment
Students are responsible for their own personal equipment (laptops, chargers). We are not liable for lost or damaged property.
Disciplinary Action
We reserve the right to suspend or expel a student for serious misconduct without refund.
Timely Pick-up
Parents are responsible for the timely drop-off and pick-up of students at designated locations.
5. Intellectual Property
Course Materials: All teaching materials provided by Code Academy Uganda remain our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or sold.
Student Projects: Students retain ownership of their creations. However, you grant Code Academy Uganda a non-exclusive license to display these projects for educational and promotional purposes.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, Code Academy Uganda shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. While we take safety precautions, we are not liable for injuries due to a student's failure to follow instructions.
7. Media Release
By accepting these terms, you grant Code Academy Uganda permission to use photographs and video recordings of the registered student in our marketing materials to promote our programs.
If you wish to opt-out, you must submit a written request to us.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts.
